Frequently asked questions
How do I set targets?
In Simple mode enter a maximum calories and minimum protein for one meal. Switch to Advanced to set carbs, fat, rules and tolerance.
Do I have to share my location?
No. If you decline permission, type a postcode or place name instead. Your location is used to run the search you ask for; some searches go to outside map services, which are listed in the privacy policy.
Why are there no results?
The message under the results names the cause — for example no chains selected, a chain switched off, a diet or spend setting, or targets that are too tight — with a button to fix it.
Where are my favourites kept?
Favourites, targets and settings are saved in this browser on this device only. They don't sync between devices, and clearing browser data removes them. You can also clear them in Settings.
What do the nutrition labels mean?
Official figure is from the chain's guide; Added up from official ingredients is calculated from published parts; Estimate hasn't been checked against an official figure. See How MacroRove works.
Which countries are supported?
The United Kingdom and South Africa. Switch country with the flag button at the top of the app.
What data does MacroRove keep?
Favourites and settings stay in this browser. Feedback you send is stored with your browser details and a hashed IP address used to prevent abuse. Our hosting and other service providers also process request and diagnostic information. See the privacy policy for details.
