Who we are

No accounts
MacroRove has no sign-up or login. We don't ask for your name to use the app.
Stored on your device
These are kept in your browser's local storage: your targets and mode, diet and price settings, favourites, chosen chains, saved country, and a count of recent feedback sent (to limit repeats). They are not uploaded to us as a profile. Some of them can be sent as part of a specific request, for example the country whose menu you load, or the page address included with feedback. Clear them any time from Settings → Clear saved data on this device, or by clearing your browser data.
Sent to our servers
- Menu loading — which country's menu you're viewing.
- Nearby search — the coordinates of the point you search from, to find the closest stored branches. We do not create a saved location history in MacroRove. Requests may still be processed in operational logs as described below.
- Feedback — when you send a report we store what you write, the type of report, any country, chain, dish, field, correction or source link you choose or enter, the page address you were on, your browser's device/browser description (user agent), and a hashed version of your IP address used to limit abuse and repeat submissions. A hash is not the same as anonymous data. When email notification is set up, a copy of the report is also emailed to the operator.
How long we keep feedback
Feedback records currently have no automatic expiry. You can ask us to delete a report you sent by contacting Contact email: macrorove at internectmail.com; we will also delete the matching email copy. Because we don't link reports to an account, please tell us roughly when you sent it and what it said.
Service providers
MacroRove is built and hosted with Lovable — which provides the website hosting, our managed backend (including the database) and the email integration that sends us a copy of feedback. As with any website, these providers process technical information about each request, such as IP address, browser and device details, the page or address requested, time, and error details when something goes wrong, to run, secure and diagnose the service and to understand overall usage. Retention of provider operational records depends on the service, its configuration and the provider's applicable terms. Contact us with questions about these records or to request deletion where applicable. These providers help us run MacroRove, but they do not take over our responsibilities towards your data.
The site's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser sends a request (including your IP address and browser details) to Google when pages load.
Location and map services
Location permission is optional. If you allow it, your device's location is used in the browser for that search only. When you search, your coordinates or typed postcode/place may be sent to these third-party services to find branches: postcodes.io (UK postcodes), Nominatim and Overpass (OpenStreetMap), and Photon (komoot). Their own privacy policies apply, and some may process data outside your country.
Cookies
MacroRove doesn't set advertising cookies. It uses local storage as described above.
Why we use data
To provide the service you ask for, keep it secure and handle your feedback. Legal bases (for UK/EU law): legitimate interests in running and securing the service, protecting it from abuse, and answering the feedback you choose to send.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to use of your data, and to complain to a regulator (in the UK, the ICO; in South Africa, the Information Regulator). Contact Contact email: macrorove at internectmail.com.
Children
MacroRove is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed at children. Feedback, technical request information and optional location searches can involve personal data as described in this policy. Please avoid including a child's personal information in feedback. iPhone version
This policy describes the MacroRove website and browser app. An iPhone version is planned. Before it is released, we will update this policy to describe any features it adds and the service providers included in it.
Changes
We'll update this page and its effective date when this policy changes.
